His appointment comes as Neurizon advances NUZ-001 through Regimen I of the registrational Phase 2/3 HEALEY ALS Platform Trial and enters the important period leading up to topline results, expected in late Q2 CY2027. His combination of scientific, medical, commercial and transactional experience is particularly relevant as the Company prepares for the potential regulatory, development and strategic pathways that may follow and seeks to create long-term shareholder value.
The appointment follows a comprehensive international executive search conducted by the Board with Coulter Partners.
Interim Executive Chairman, Sergio Duchini said: “Chris joins Neurizon at an important point in the Company’s development. With enrolment in Regimen I of the HEALEY ALS Platform Trial complete, our focus is on disciplined execution through to topline results, while ensuring Neurizon is appropriately positioned from a capital, regulatory and strategic perspective for what may follow.
“Chris distinguished himself through his combination of medical and scientific credibility, commercial and business development experience and senior international leadership. Importantly, he understands how to connect scientific and clinical development with commercial strategy, strategic partnering and long-term value creation.
“Chris has led large, diverse and internationally distributed teams, managed global portfolios and P&Ls, and contributed to significant pharmaceutical licensing, business development and commercialisation activities. He is also a highly respected leader who builds trust and communicates effectively across Boards, scientific and clinical teams, partners and investors.

Bringing Global Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Leadership:
Dr Bremer spent approximately 20 years with Grünenthal, progressing through a series of increasingly senior commercial, strategic and global leadership roles.
His responsibilities included P&L leadership, global marketing and commercial strategy, product launches, portfolio strategy and global oversight of early products and commercial opportunities.
As Executive Vice President, Early Products & Commercial Opportunities, Dr Bremer led portfolio strategy across preclinical and clinical development and lifecycle management. He also co-chaired Grünenthal’s integrated R&D–Commercial governance board, supporting the alignment of scientific development, portfolio investment and commercial strategy.
In this role, Dr Bremer was also responsible for the evaluation of internal development opportunities and contributed to the development and execution of in-licensing, out-licensing and business development strategies.
Dr Bremer subsequently served as Grünenthal’s Interim Chief Commercial Officer, reporting to the company’s CEO. He previously held senior commercial leadership roles across Europe, Latin America and other international markets. During this period, Dr Bremer has executed on over US$1Bn in licensing transactions.
Following his tenure at Grünenthal, Dr Bremer pursued senior leadership roles within entrepreneurial biotechnology companies. He has served as Chief Development Officer of Navigo Proteins, where he has been involved in the development strategy for precision oncology and radiotheranostics programs and in strategic collaborations with international pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Dr Bremer was also the Founding Chief Executive Officer of GAIASO Theranostics, an Australian biotechnology company focused on radiopharmaceutical approaches in women’s health, before transitioning to the role of Chief Business Officer.
Throughout his career, Dr Bremer has led organisations of up to 500 employees and worked extensively across geographically distributed and cross-functional teams.
Dr Bremer holds medical and doctoral qualifications and completed an MBA at INSEAD. Before his career in medicine and pharmaceuticals, he represented Germany as an elite swimmer at the 1992 Olympic Games, subsequently captaining the German National Swimming Team at the 1996 Olympic Games.
Incoming Chief Executive Officer, Dr Chris Bremer, commented: “I am honoured to join Neurizon at such an important point in the Company’s development. I was attracted by the underlying science, the advanced clinical program for NUZ-001 and the opportunity to contribute to the development of a potential new treatment for people living with ALS.
“Throughout my career, I have worked at the intersection of scientific development, portfolio strategy, commercialisation and strategic partnering. Neurizon has established important clinical, regulatory, manufacturing and scientific progress, and I look forward to building on this work with the Board and the team.
“My immediate priorities will be to support disciplined execution of the clinical and regulatory program, maintain a strong focus on capital and organisational readiness, and prepare thoughtfully for the potential strategic pathways that may follow topline results.
“ALS has a profound impact on people living with ALS and their families, and I recognise the responsibility that comes with leading a company working in this area. I look forward to engaging with the ALS community, our shareholders, clinical collaborators, potential partners and the broader Australian biotechnology community.”
Neurizon’s next phase of growth:
Neurizon’s lead investigational therapy, NUZ-001, is being evaluated in 250 participants in Regimen I of the registrational Phase 2/3 HEALEY ALS Platform Trial, with topline results expected in late Q2 2027.
The Company’s priorities include disciplined execution of the clinical program through to topline results, continued regulatory and CMC readiness, further development of the scientific evidence supporting NUZ-001, and preparation for potential development, partnering and commercial pathways, subject to the outcomes of the study.
The Board believes Dr Bremer’s experience integrating scientific and clinical development with commercial strategy, portfolio management and strategic partnering is closely aligned with these priorities.
Dr Bremer will be based in Melbourne and will work closely with Neurizon’s Australian and US teams.
Following Dr Bremer’s commencement, Mr Duchini will transition from Interim Executive Chair to Non-Executive Chair. Mr Duchini will work closely with Dr Bremer during the leadership transition.
Dr Bremer will initially be appointed as Chief Executive Officer and will not be appointed as a Director of Neurizon Therapeutics Limited.
Dr Bremer’s appointment strengthens Neurizon’s leadership as the Company advances NUZ-001 through late-stage clinical development. He joins at a defining point for the Company, bringing the scientific understanding, international leadership and commercial experience needed to guide Neurizon through its next phase and translate continued clinical execution into potential strategic, partnering and value-creation opportunities.
