Significant progress has been made in the AIDS response since 1988, however ensuring a swift and accurate diagnosis accessible to everyone is still a significant barrier which needs to be tackled in our battle to combat the disease. He concludes that enabling mass access to swift, accurate, presymptomatic diagnosis requires collaboration and a deep-seated commitment to removing the stigma around HIV and AIDS.
